On behalf of the CTI Alumni Association, I would like to thank everyone who attended the CTI Corporate Networking Night that evening
and made it, once again, a great success.
Just before the Blue Demons faced the Kansas Jayhawks in basketball last Dec. 12, Chicago area corporations put their own full court
press on DePaul CTI alumni at the third annual CTI Alumni Association Corporate Networking Night.
Representatives from Focal Communications, Motorola, Allstate Insurance, Allegiance Healthcare and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture)
went one-on-one with more than 300 business professionals who crammed the catered affair held in the executive rooms of the United Center.
CTIs Associate Dean David Miller led a group that include many faculty members, while Dean Arthur Kraft from DePauls Kellstadt
School of Commerce and Carol Montgomery, associate vice president for Alumni and Career Networks, mingled with many of the professionals.
DePauls Computer Science Society, the National Society of Black Engineers and the School of CTI also participated.
By the time CTI Alumni moved into the arena for tip-off, more than 1,200 business cards had been distributed, 95 trays of appetizers had been consumed and 35 DePaul CTI caps, T-shirts and sweaters had been raffled.
Looking toward the future, our main goal this year is to increase alumni participation in events by addressing their needs. Our surveys indicate that our alumni desire networking and educational events.
So, throughout the first months of 2001, the CTI Alumni Association will use mailings, emails and even direct telephone calls to solicit your participation in some of its upcoming events:
- Feb. 23: We co-sponsor a reception for the IT Outsourcing Panel Discussion
- March 30: We hold a CTI Final Friday seminar, Microsoft.net
- April 20: We hold our Windy City Symposium, The Future of the Internet
- April 27: We sponsor another CTI Friday Friday seminar, Next Generation of Mobile Services
- May 18: We help sponsor the College of Commerces Financial Market Update, focusing on the future of technology investment
We know you cannot make all these events, but as you attend one or two, make sure to drop off your business card or update your alumni information. This will go a long way towards helping us keep you in the ballgame of upcoming CTI Alumni Association events.
If you have any questions about upcoming CTI Alumni Association events, please contact Dina Lindenberg, CTI Alumni Association coordinator, at dlindenb@wppost.depaul.edu.
