Requirements for the BS-CS program for the 2004-05 academic year have changed. Certain courses are being renamed and renumbered or replaced by other courses and new requirements have been added.

If you entered the BS-CS program on the 2003-04 curriculum, you can stay with that curriculum or you may switch to the newer curriculum. If you have entered the curriculum before 2004 you should meet with an advisor to evaluate your options.

Note that all concentrations have been eliminated except for the Software Engineering Honors Concentration. Most concentration-specific courses will still be offered. If you are currently in a concentration other than the standard CS and have questions about which courses to take please contact your advisor.

Staying on the 2003-04 BS-CS curriculum

Some classes required by the 2003-04 BS-CS are no longer offered. Consult the following table to determine how to complete your degree.

For students staying in 2003-04 CY BS-CS
If you have not taken:	Then take:
CSC 210	Consider switching to the 2004-05 degree
CSC 313	CSC 383 or CSC 393
CSC 319	IT 240
CSC 323	IT 223
CSC 336	IT 230
If you have not taken any of the following CSC 343, CSC 345	CSC 373 and CSC 374
If you have taken only one of the following CSC 343, CSC 345	CSC 373
HCI 310	HCI 210
IS 315	IT 215 or SE 325
All other required classes will be offered

Switching to the 2004-05 BS-CS curriculum

If you switch to the 2004-05 curriculum, you must meet the new degree requirements. Consult the following table to determine which courses you have already taken will count toward those requirements

For students switching to the 2004-05 CY BS-CS
If you have already taken:	It will count for:
CSC 210	IT 130
CSC 313	CSC 383 or CSC 393
CSC 319	IT 240
CSC 323	IT 223
Both: CSC 343, CSC 345	CSC 373 and CSC 374
One of the following: CSC 343, CSC 345	CSC 374 You will still need to take CSC 373
IS 315	SE 325
TDC 361	IT 263
All other classes are still required
